Water - Nick

As I was younger I used to over look it’s usefulness as it was a pain to break for it. It was a pain to go without it too. Now it’s what I go to day after day, time and time again. I feel great with it and I know it’s foolish to go without it. The substance that is the foundation of life, the fuel to motion, and the savior of ill feeling. Even an artist in it’s own right. From day one of Earth weathering down the land to it’s shape today. The reason for the Grand Canyon and all of the Earths wonderful features. Some live with a little, some live with a corrupted form. It’s abused by some and still blesses their life. Loved by all, needed by all, surrounds all. Simple but so complex.

Water - Frankie

Where there us an absence of water there is an absence of physical life. If there is no water to consume, I am weak and my strength hinders. It is humbling. When I look at its vastness, its power, and its necessity I see how powerless I actually am. My pride is abolished because I know that without water I cannot live. I don’t know why it is necessary for me to drink, but it is. It is not only a sustainer for the physical body, but it gives life to our spirit. It has been in existence long before we were around. It has been providing for the earth for centuries and will continue to be the basis of our being. However, there is so much more to water. Admiring the beauty of a crystal clear spring is one of the most peaceful and enjoyable things that you can do. Looking out onto an ocean you are reminded of your insignificance compared to the waters vastness.  If we lack water, we have nothing. Apart from it we are weak and there is no life. It is a tool for humility because we have no control over its pressure, its power, and its beauty. We can only receive the blessings that it gives to us.

The River - Emily

A fresh, calming sound draws me in and I follow it until I discover a small paradise within the forest. The sight of it is intoxicating, so clear and pristine. It possesses the look of an old glass window, glimmering in the sunlight and distorting all the treasures that lay beneath its surface. I cautiously dip my hand into the beautiful unknown and my mind is frozen with the unbearable temperature, I immediately revoke my trust that I had placed within its mysterious depths. I take a few steps back and begin to open up my other senses and I discover the sound is mesmerizing. I am completely overcome by an obsession with the crystal like sounds that never end and my trust is restored. Then I take a deep breath in, all of the sounds that I have come to adore seem to turn into beautiful fragrances that overtake my mind and blind all of my other senses. I soon realize that this newly discovered piece of nature not only resembles a handcrafted window but it opens up the unique window into my soul.

Mission Statement

We believe writing should be an escape. We want to be able to express our emotions and train of thought without having to stick to a guideline or write on an opinion that is not of our own, but of the individual grading us. We aspire to write for peace of mind, enjoyment, and for no one but ourselves. We hope our readers can finish reading our work and feel they know us as a person and can relate to the message being communicated. We feel we should always be learning and improving with our writing, and that good writers can inspire others to create pieces of their own.
